Powerful People

Recently at Burgie MediaFusion, we conducted a team building exercise.

Natalie, Janna, Sue, and I gathered in a room and were led in a yoga practice. As the leader of the team, I am often the one who assigns tasks and ensures payroll is processed and that clients are happy. That day, I was just a team member, focused in the moment on these amazing women. I was reminded of just how fortunate I am to work with them. I thought I would take a moment to share, publicly, why I am so thankful for each member of this team.

Anna was an amazing intern for BMF this summer. Her spirit for life and willingness to take on any task was just the breath of fresh air that we needed. Now resuming her collegiate studies, she still assists us, remotely. Anna is a young woman who possesses a keen understanding of boundaries and limitations; a gift that I still have not mastered. She will be someone who I will admire for years to come as I watch her gracefully master life. I love her dearly.

Sue, our newest member, is a retired teacher who comes to BMF being a life-long, family friend. She was offered the job as I was in my car driving down a hill. It is a great story; be sure to ask when you meet her! She has an amazing spirit and is instrumental in assisting me with all of the small details that need to be accomplished. She catches mistakes that we miss, she ensures that everyone is supported and she is always learning! Her fresh perspective is a blessing and her willingness to learn and ability to understand is empowering. I love her dearly.

Janna makes me smile! She has the ability to offer a gentle touch that lets you know everything is going to be perfect in the end. Her inner strength is profound and her expertise is something I never dreamt BMF would be able to offer. She understands how to take emotions and illustrate them via words and graphics. Her work has helped usher our company into a new era. I still look around at what we are producing and smile in joy and amazement. She can come up with a fantastic headline or crack an amazing remark that makes you spin your head and laugh! I love her dearly.

Natalie is my lifeline. She has stood by my side through being single, being married, having babies and (of course) many, many clients. She is BMF’s resident bada$$ who protects herself and all those whom she loves. She is, by far, the most organized person I have ever known. I have no idea how she gets it all done in a day and still has time to mow the grass! She makes me a better person because she enables my thoughts to be understood by those around me. Her gift of translation combined with humor and quick wit makes her one of those people you always want to have around. I love her dearly.

Not to be forgotten as she is a vital member of our team is Leslie. Leslie is the one who makes us look really good because she can sell! She diligently makes calls and sends emails in the hundreds each day. She also happens, I think, to put that many miles on her car each day too! She is always proactively figuring out what’s best for each of our clients. I truly admire all that she does as a single mom. I watch her dedication to her son and family and I am encouraged to continue to take the time to be there for those that I love. I love her dearly.

That day, in the moment we shared deep breaths together. I was able to reflect on the strength that these women represent. They provide expertise to our clients all while being friends, daughters, wives and moms. They work incredibly hard at EVERYTHING they do in life and they don’t settle. These women push boundaries, they are always willing to learn new things and they make you want to stand up and say YAHOO!

Thank you ladies, for being willing to work with me and for our clients. Thank you for the time, the commitment and the love you give. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
