Stilence

By January 12, 2016Blog

2016 is off to a busy start and we at BMF are very much in tune with the fun that 2016 has in store. Our client list is growing and our work is so exciting however, we know that to do our job the best we can, during the day we have to stop, be still and be silent. Stilence.

We would love to take credit for this word but it was actually first mentioned from Amy our yoga instructor who accidentally said it one day during our team yoga. In 2015 we learned valuable lessons in our “be still and be silent” moments and we thought we would share.

  1. When we make a mistake it is because we tried too hard to meet an impossible deadline without pausing to have a fresh pair of eyes review or a new perspective be added to our campaign.
  2. We were able to improve our overall performance by taking time each day to be still.
  3. We worked more effectively by “tuning out” email during highly productive times. We shut down phones and email and just “worked” on projects.
  4. We saved our clients money by creating a process for some of our “everyday” tasks so that we can ensure they are done in the most efficient way.
  5. We were happier because we learned to ask for help when we got overwhelmed.

We hope a few of these might hit home and be things you can include in your 2016 daily routines. They have made a huge impact for us and in 2016 we will be sure to add in even more strategies for increasing productivity and decreasing our stress!

We hope 2016 is your best year yet!
